I’ve realised that Buffy is a humongous fan of lucite rings. During season one Buffy is never seen without one on at least one finger. Whether plain colours, transparent, patterned or floral they make a 90’s inspired statement. I have developed an obsession over them joining the Bufster in her fashion and accessory choices. Looking everywhere for a place that sold them I finally came across this amazing website: http://www.thecarrotbox.com/store/index.asp
They come in the dome classic shape, cats eye, arcylic and more! Below Buffy is seen rocking Angel’s leather jacket in the Bronze. Along with two lucite rings, double the statement!
Q. Favourite female character?
A.I know this is everyone’s answer but how could it not? My favourite female character is Buffy. When Joss Whedon first started making Buffy the Vampire Slayer he wanted the hero to actually be a young woman for the first time in television history. One that didn’t need a strong male hero to save her, a young woman who would save the world and prove anyone can be a hero. Buffy has truly touched me in how much she has grown from season 1 being the witty teenager who just wanted to have a normal life. To the mature woman who accepted her duties, put others infront of herself and ‘saved the world a lot’. I watched Buffy struggle without a father figure though finding love, guidance and wisdom from Giles. Seeing her get her heart broken and feel as if she was worthless and unloved related to my crumbled heart. So many times I would be going through something and not know how I was going to recover. Seeing Buffy going through all these things and coming out a stronger person gave me hope, it gave me a hero. I love and cherish the character of Buffy so much because she gives up so much and cares so deeply for the ones around her.
“It is always different! It’s always complicated. And at some point, someone has to draw the line, and that is always going to be me! You get down on me for cutting myself off, but in the end the Slayer is always cut off. There’s no mystical guidebook, no all-knowing council. Human rules don’t apply! There’s only me. I am the law.”
She tackles so many tragedies through her life and finally realises that she is not alone. When she falls back her friends are there to pick her back up again, many issues and fears Buffy faced relate to so many people. Buffy some how has managed to crawl into my heart when it was broken and built it up again. Because of Buffy I know that people are there for you even if you don’t realise. That no matter how hard life seems, you’ll get through it and that hero’s may come in the form of anyone. Buffy is my hero and she has teached me so many important values and beliefs. That I believe she is the image of what all of us can be if we never back down and always get back up. Buffy Summers saved the world and she saved me.
Q.Favourite song used in an episode?
A. Okay it’s not just because Spike sung it and he looked bloody hot doing it as well. Um okay yeh that’s mainly the reason and he’s actually a really good singer! My favourite song used in an episode is ‘Rest in Peace’ by Spike in the episode Once more with feeling. I literally spent hours replaying that scene where he performs it, learning all the lyrics. I love how tongue and cheek it is but also strangely spell-binding, the connection that is shown between Buffy and him left my speechless. The tune of the song was catchy and the lyrics were witty.
I do have to admit I might have downloaded it on my ipod and danced around my room to it. But who wouldn’t were talking about Spike singing and that makes me melt. I was pretty much in love with all the music featured in that episode. I really loved the duet with Xander and Anya, ‘I’ll never tell.’ It had me singing along and even though their singing wasn’t too brilliant it was extremely entertaining.
I’m also a sucker for the classics such as Angel and Buffy’s theme song. That always makes me tear up and it produces flashbacks of episodes when I listen to it. And of course the intro song is on my favourites list. The music on ‘Buffy the vampire slayer’ was truly amazing, along with the cast, fashion, humour and script writing.
Q. Favourite episode?
A. My favourite episode is definitely ‘Something blue - Season 4.’ Spike’s just got the chip implanted into his head, so he can’t harm anyone without feeling immense pain. Shacked up with Giles and handcuffed in the bath tub, been fed blood baggies.
Spike: Passions is on! Timmy’s down the bloody well, and if you make me miss it I’ll -
Giles: Do what? Lick me to death?
Riley has just confessed that he really likes Buffy and everyone’s going around doing their business as per usual. Willow is sulking and suffering over her breakup with Oz but no one notices, except for Spike. Willow’s feeling depressed and is casting spells on everyone without realising. She causes Giles to go blind, Buffy and Spike to become engaged and Xander to be an instant ‘demon magnet’. All her anger and depression over her situation causes her friends to be put in terrible danger. She is offered to become a vengeance demon from a very impressed one itself. Imust admit I liked the idea of Buffy and Spike being engaged. I guess I’m just addicted to the idea of Spuffy becoming a pernament thing.
Buffy: Honey, we need to talk about the invitations. Now, do you want to be ‘William the Bloody’ or just ‘Spike’, because either way it’s gonn look majorily wierd.
Spike: Whereas the name ‘Buffy’ gives it that touch of classic elegance.
Buffy: What’s wrong with ‘Buffy’?
Q. Favourite season?
A. My favourite Buffy season, it’s so hard to pick between season 1 and season 6. I loved season 6 cause I’m a sucker (no pun intended) for Spuffy. The fact that Spike feels so strongly for Buffy even without his soul, as Angel never did. Spike never truly lost all his humanity I believe deep down he still cared about his loved ones and wanted to do what was right. Even though they never actually get together offically I still love the intense and passion evoked from their chemistry. Spuffy brought tears to my eyes and got me hooked. But I have to admit that was mainly the only reason I loved season 6 so greatly. When it comes down to it I would have to choose season 1 as my all time favourite season though. The Willow, Xander and Buffy love triangle even though we find out later Willow fancies women. Makes me laugh every time! The humour, innocence, relationships and how everything was a new discovery really made me fall in love with season 1. I guess it’s because it was the first time Giles emerged from underneath those books and how he cared for Buffy more everyday. How shy, under estimated Willow longed after Xander and was slowly coming out of her shell. How Xander despised the girl he was going to fall head over heels for. The ghosts, dummy demon hunters, nightmares coming to life, witches and the Master brought us all into this new world. Where it was okay to be different and everyone was a hero. The first season of Buffy was the season that touched, taught and made me fall in love with the cast the most. Giles, Willow, Xander and Buffy. I still consider them the original Scoobies, the ones who introduced me to the world of Buffy the vampire Slayer.
Does anyone know any online boutiques that sell cropped t-shirts with the v-neck? Much like the ones buffy pairs with her mini skirts, in any plain colours with no graphics. I cannot find one anywhere … Thankyou!
